As a mother of two children and of a husband (it feels that way at times), I know the challenges of everyday family life. With my degree in psychology, I thought I was better prepared at first.
Despite theory and work practice, everyday life with children is something different. That’s why I try to support parents with well-founded information on certain topics on psychologymama.com.
Ines Wurbs
Psychologist with a degree from the University of Vienna
My interest in psychology did already grow during my childhood. So, I did not have any problems finding a field of study. Studying psychology at the University of Vienna was a simple and the right decision for me. During my studies, I was able to gain experience in various internships.
I did gain experience working as a sex counselor, during my internship in an addiction treatment facility and during my 8-year work for the Austrian Autistic Aid society. From these, I soon found that working with children and their parents was one of the most fulfilling areas of responsibility for me as a psychologist.
My experience
During my many years of work for the Austrian Autistic Aid society, I was able to gain a lot of experience in psychological counseling for children, young people, and parents. Here I could learn how to put the psychological knowledge I had learned into practice.
